Epistemic Vault

Frequently asked questions

Epistemic Vault is part of the Epistemic Suite - a full provenance stack built for trusted capture, storage, and sharing.

What is Epistemic Vault?

Epistemic Vault is the secure storage and provenance hub of the Epistemic Suite. It keeps captured media organized and attaches a proof trail you can share when it matters.

What is the goal of the Epistemic Suite?

To make trustworthy media easy. We capture from the field, verify integrity as assets move, and preserve a clear record for handoffs, review, and accountability.

What makes Epistemic different?

We are currently the only provider of a full provenance stack that works with off-the-shelf Android devices. We start at the lens and apply sensor reality checks before anything is stored or shared.

Do I need special hardware?

No. Epistemic Recorder runs on standard Android phones. For teams with stricter requirements, we can support dedicated device setups.

Who can see my files?

Your assets stay inside your Vault. You control who can view, download, or receive a proof bundle.

Can I use the Vault without the Recorder?

Yes. You can upload from desktop or integrate existing workflows. The Recorder simply gives the strongest capture-to-proof chain.

Who is Epistemic Vault for?

Newsrooms, investigators, compliance teams, researchers, and creators who need defensible provenance and a clean handoff trail.

How do I get access?

Sign in to choose a plan, or request access if you need a tailored deployment. We will guide you through onboarding.

Where can I learn more technical details?

We keep the FAQ high level. If you need a deeper technical brief or compliance material, contact the team and we will share the right documentation.
